3 WAYS TO HELP NOW
THE PLAN WORKED
The plan was to do the 1 in 8 Ride in honor and support of the One in Eight women who will be diagnosed with some form of breast cancer throughout their lives. Mike, my hubby and co-survivor successfully traveled 3,362 miles and crossed 13 states from California to New York City.
Using Mike's words, "There is an abundance of love, passion and compassion in the world. Thank you for being part of the journey and for all the support." Mike collected over 2,000 names on his pink Harley Davidson as a rolling tribute to those who've battled or are battling breast cancer.
HOW'D HE GET HOME, YOU ASK?
He flew home and left the bike at a friend's in New York. We shipped it back and auctioned off some of the signed parts for more personal donations. Currently, Mike is riding it all over the Bay Area. Look for the awareness ribbon flag on the back!
The 1 in 8 Ride raised over $14,000 to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
